Starfriends: The 5-Star Game About What Everyone Else Thinks

Howdy Starfriends, Rob here, with another update as we approach the end of our first 24 hours on Kickstarter. And what a fun update it is to write, as we are (at press time) 145% funded! What a delight, you're all the best. Every time another deck order rolls in I'm fully grinning at the thought of a new group playing this game.

Some campaign news, as we exit the heliopause of our initial funding goal and coast into the deep unknown of our remaining 25 days. By popular demand, we've added a new tier, our Celestial Wholesale Club, where you can get 10 decks for $75. We priced this new tier (and identically priced add-on) for reselling at stores, stocking games libraries, or building elaborate structures out of physical Starfriends decks. If you've got a local games spot you think would enjoy having Starfriends for sale or play, please send them our way!

Last tidbit, it's not mentioned in our campaign text because we kinda pulled it together at the last minute, but we have an official Starfriends Bluesky bot and it's a lot of fun so far. Give it a follow at @starfriendsgame.bsky.social – every three hours it posts a random combination of star rating and topic, just like in the game. It even follows the same random distribution as a Starfriends deck! Reply to the bot with your opinion and I'll let you know if your pick would have won my card.

Thanks again for supporting Starfriends – this feels like the moment in the campaign where what happens next really depends on how much reach we get outside our own networks, so we hope you'll shout about the game from the rooftops! Holy hell everyone, thank you for backing Starfriends so quickly! We've been live for four hours and the campaign is already 80% funded. This is amazing and we're so grateful you've showed up for our studio's first commercial game.

Also now that people are backing the game for real, we've learned about something we screwed up: Starfriends stickers are supposed to be included in our Cosmic Fashion and Ultimate Starfriend bundles, but we neglected to add them to the bundle on the back-end, and so (we think) people are paying $5 to add stickers when they should be getting them for free. This was our mistake! We'll be providing the stickers at no extra charge to bundle backers, and we've updated our campaign text to make this clearer. If you've already pledged extra for add-on stickers at a bundle tier, feel free to remove that add-on from your pledge, we won't take it personally! Or maybe you were just loading up on extra stickers for the coming Sticker Winter. We support that too.
